Jerry and his licensed team bring experience across insurance sales, customer service, and policy support. That shared background helps the team explain available choices in practical terms so customers can make informed decisions about what they want to protect.
A History of Community Involvement
For Jerry, serving people has always extended beyond the agency. His community involvement has included supporting the MUST Ministries Gobble Jog and the Metro Atlanta Salvation Army’s Army Kettle Krush 5K.
Throughout his career, Jerry has also held leadership and service roles with the Boys & Girls Club of Macon, the Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads, and the commissioning committee for the USS Ronald Reagan. Since 2024, he has served as a member of the Eagle Wings Christian Film Festival at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy.
Meet Jerry Sorrels
Jerry began his GEICO career in 1982 at the company’s Southeastern Regional Headquarters in Macon, Georgia, where he worked in customer service and sales. In 1992, he opened his first GEICO agency in Virginia Beach and served the Hampton Roads area for fourteen years.
During that time, Jerry was recognized as a top-performing agent in the Mid-Atlantic Region in 1995, 1998, and 1999. He also received nationwide recognition as a leading GEICO agency owner in 2001 and 2002.
In 2006, Jerry returned to Georgia and opened Sorrels Insurance Agency in Marietta. His decades of experience across customer service, sales, and agency ownership shape the knowledgeable, personal approach he brings to the office today.
Jerry lives in the area with his wife and son. Outside the agency, he enjoys golf and clay target shooting.

Paul Donacik
Licensed Agent and Office Manager
Paul brings 26 years of insurance industry experience to his role as office manager. He began his career in the sales department at GEICO’s regional headquarters in Buffalo, New York, where he worked for ten years. He later served as a service counselor at GEICO’s Southeastern Regional Headquarters in Macon before joining Sorrels Insurance Agency.
Amanda Leyh
Licensed Agent
Amanda brings 22 years of property and casualty insurance experience to the team. Before joining Sorrels Insurance Agency in 2014, she worked for ten years as a service counselor at GEICO’s regional headquarters in Buffalo. Amanda specializes in homeowners insurance and bundled policies.
David Gatlin
Licensed Agent
A native of Kennesaw, Georgia, David has been part of Sorrels Insurance Agency since 2014. He helps customers explore a broad range of insurance products, with a particular focus on condo coverage.
